At-risk youth face significant barriers to employment. When you're living in foster care, have few marketable skills, and lack the familial connections and education of your peers, the process of landing a job can be a daunting task. But since a large number of teens become homeless after aging out of foster care, it is crucial that these young people find employment. To these kids, finding a job isn't merely a chance to get a little extra money for going to the movies; instead, it is an important source of income that can make the difference between failure and success.
Unite4Kids is committed to seeing at-risk youth find employment so that they can make a smooth transition to independent living and enjoy productive, fulfilling lives. As a result of our efforts, several youths have obtained jobs at Washington University in Saint Louis and Barnes-Jewish Hospital and are now on the path to success.
